Requirements

Experience operating conventional machine shop equipment (lathe, milling machine, drill press, etc.) is required
Ability to review drawings, instructions, and blueprints to ensure accurate work
Ability to take precise measurements for cutting or shaping
Knowledge of machine settings and procedures
Ability to plan and sequence tasks to complete assignments
Ability to monitor machines and identify issues
Ability to perform machine maintenance and minor repairs
Ability to sharpen cutters, drills, and sprue cutters
Ability to troubleshoot injection mold problems and tooling issues
Ability to calculate tooling stack ups from dimensions referenced on engineer drawings
Tracer lathe threading skills are a plus

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain conventional machine shop equipment
Review drawings and instructions to ensure accurate work
Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping
Plan proper sequence of tasks for assignments
Monitor machines while working to adjust settings and identify issues
Complete checklists for apprentices and Mold Polishers
Sharpen cutters, drills, and sprue cutters
Identify need for and perform machine maintenance and minor repairs
Maintain a safe and clean workstation
Complete work assigned in accordance with instructions
Respond to and provide solutions for tooling issues causing downtime
