Candidates must possess at least two years of engineering management experience, leading ML or related technical teams, and a minimum of six years of experience with large-scale machine learning, ideally in information retrieval, recommendation systems, or advertising. They should also have at least four years of hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, along with proven experience deploying ML models to production and measuring their performance using both technical and business metrics. Familiarity with advertising ecosystems, marketplace dynamics, and candidate retrieval processes is a significant advantage.
The Machine Learning Manager will set a technical vision and strategy for ads retrieval, overseeing the end-to-end ML model development process from data processing to deployment, and ensuring the retrieval systems are robust and scalable. They will mentor and grow a team of ML talent, fostering a collaborative culture, and collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to align retrieval strategies with product requirements. Additionally, they will advocate for model quality, system reliability, and operational excellence, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and enhancing team performance.
