Responsibilities

Set up the vision and product strategy of ads quality and relevance
Optimize ads delivery and auction systems through utility function design
Measure various marketplace tradeoffs
Build the auction/ranking platform for Ads Marketplace Quality that scales with the ads business
Guide and set technical vision with huge business impact
Own execution of team’s roadmap and ensure consistent, predictable delivery
Ruthlessly prioritize planned projects and emergent asks
Coach Tech Leads on project management and empower team to execute autonomously
Identify risks and proactively communicate them internally and externally
Identify team’s needs, write job descriptions, source, interview, and help close candidates for recruiting
Help engineers identify career goals and create development plans
Push engineers outside their comfort zone to turn followers into leaders
Develop processes and tooling to improve product and system quality, meeting product requirements, customer needs, and SLAs
Serve as thought partner to product and upper management to align team plans with company goals
Become an expert in the digital ads business
