Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - active license in the state of practice upon hire, or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) or ability to complete certification courses within 60 days of hire
  • 1-3 years experience in a clinical or long-term care environment (preferred)
  • Ability to work Night Shift (11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.), rotating weekends/holidays, Part Time (at least 32 hours per pay period)
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

Responsibilities

  • Regularly evaluate residents' physical and mental health, including vital signs, cognitive function, and overall well-being
  • Accurately dispense and monitor medications according to physician orders
  • Maintain open communication with residents, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members for coordinated care
  • Observe and promptly report significant changes in resident health status to appropriate healthcare providers
  • Assess pain levels and administer pain medication as prescribed
  • Provide emotional support and address psychosocial needs of residents
  • Maintain accurate and detailed resident records, including progress notes and medication administration logs
  • Recognize subtle changes in resident behavior or health status due to chronic conditions
  • Collaborate with Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care
  • Comply with all aspects of resident rights, including confidentiality and privacy
  • Lead by example, following Freeman Regional Health Services CARE standards
