Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - active license in the state of practice (Board of Nursing) upon hire
Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds

Ability to work PRN hours: minimum of 36 hours in a 3-month rolling calendar period (to the extent hours are available)

Responsibilities

Perform general nursing care to patients
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards
Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic
Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing of patients
Observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider
Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations; maintain timely flow of patients
Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination; screen patients for appropriate information including obtaining health history and taking vitals; document in patient chart
Instruct patient in collection of samples and tests
Respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from the physician
Educate patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness
Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints
Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness; prepare list of medical supplies needed
Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol; perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing
