Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, with excellent academic record
  • Interest in gaining exposure to the legal profession, specifically in investment transactions and legal matters at a global investment firm
  • Minimum two-year commitment for a two-year position (with potential for extension)

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys and external counsel in reviewing, documenting and closing a wide range of investment transactions
  • Support attorneys in reviewing common legal agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, engagement letters, and third-party contracts
  • Prepare account opening documentation and process Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requests
  • Collaborate with attorneys and the SFM Trade Support team to manage various corporate actions and trading matters
  • Support attorneys with fund-related litigation
  • Manage the storage and dissemination of Legal Department files
  • Assist the SFM Compliance team in support of the firm’s compliance and regulatory practices
  • Maintain positive working relationships across the SFM platform, as well as with external counsel and third-party vendors
  • Support attorneys with other miscellaneous tasks, as required
