Position Overview

Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first. The Learning Design Professional 2 uses instructional design, cognitive psychology, and adult learning theory to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. This role involves varied work assignments that frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes content, organizes content, designs solutions, and writes storyboards, scripts, performance support, mobile learning, and manuals.
  • Partners with subject matter experts to create course content.
  • Ensures course materials are current and relevant to training needs.
  • Assists senior and lead personnel in tracking and analyzing the effectiveness of training programs by examining learner satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement.
  • Utilizes tools to facilitate learning.
  • Collaborates with senior and lead personnel to develop training curriculum, materials, job performance aids, and programs to meet specific training needs.
  • Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives.
  • Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and receives guidance and direction where needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field, learning design/instructional design, or education.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of development experience specifically in training materials, SOPA (Standard Operation Procedure Announcement), process flows, and/or job aids.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other applications (Adobe PDF, Visio, Articulate).
  • Progressive business experience with a focus on learning strategies and adult learning theories.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas: Business Administration; Learning and Performance; Education; Organizational Design or Related Field.
  • Managed Care: Medicare/Medicaid experience.
  • Experience in care management or utilization management.

Workstyle & Logistics

  • Employment Type: Full time

  • Typical Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm EST.
  • Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
  • Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

    • Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections can be used only if approved by leadership.

    • Humana will provide necessary telephone equipment.
    • Employees must work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
