Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or an equivalent engineering field, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the design and testing of complex electromechanical and/or robotic systems. They should have experience with systems engineering fundamentals, particularly safety engineering methodologies such as HARA, safety concept and requirements development, and safety verification & validation, and experience with test scripting and data analysis languages like Python and SQL.

Responsibilities

The Lead Systems Safety Engineer will lead interdisciplinary teams to analyze product features, define safe behaviors, and demonstrate their intended exhibition. They will define verifiable safety requirements and quantitative safety metrics based on risk analysis, measurable at scale with data and simulation for both autonomy software and the hardware platform. The role involves leading cross-functional teams to generate innovative safety concepts, ensuring safety architecture and requirements are aligned across the organization, defining and implementing creative safety architecture and validation solutions for a drive stack incorporating machine learning, driving safety analysis with teams across multiple domains, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization by providing training and guidance on safety best practices.
