Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in plant equipment operation including boiler operations, air compressors, or related field
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance (noted in environmental conditions)
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotational shifts (day/night rotation), including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and some non-scheduled days
  • Physical ability to work in mechanical spaces (not climate controlled), outside at times; wear gowning and PPE; lift/manipulate up to 25 pounds unassisted; stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch; climb ladders and work at heights; use hand tools with forceful gripping, grasping, pushing, pulling
  • Skilled in problem analysis, planning, and organization
  • Strong attention to detail, oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of highly technical diagnostic and test equipment
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, manuals, and training materials
  • General trades’ knowledge, such as HVAC, electrical, and mechanical tasks

Responsibilities

  • Manage boiler systems (fire tube and water tube) and related physical plant equipment, including cooling towers, air compressors, and water systems, following SOPs and department needs
  • Run and sustain High Quality Water systems (WFI, PFW) built by Reverse Osmosis units and Distillation units
  • Lead and assist other team members to maintain computer controls and review recorded operating data
  • Resolve issues to ensure continuous operations and communicate status, including failures/corrective actions and readiness to management
  • Maintain housekeeping services in utilities areas and communicate concerns
