Requirements

  • Technical expertise in radiation safety programs
  • Ability to provide operational support in development, implementation, and maintenance of radiation safety (RS) and potentially HSE programs
  • Capability to perform in a fluid and dynamic environment during site startup to full-scale GMP manufacturing
  • Strong collaboration skills and resilience for working with cross-functional teams
  • Availability for 24/7 coverage including day, night, weekend, and/or variable shifts

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily fundamental radiation safety tasks, including quantitative surveys for radioactive contamination and area radiation fields, collecting/replacing/analyzing particulate and liquid samples, radiation instrument constancy testing and calibration tracking, and completing/reviewing radiation safety documentation for audit/inspection readiness
  • Assist with routine HSE compliance activities, such as scheduled safety inspections and other compliance-related tasks
  • Provide comprehensive Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and field presence for manufacturing and laboratory activities to ensure appropriate controls and implementation of JHA recommendations
  • Lead implementation of assigned RS operational readiness programs (e.g., equipment management, constancy testing, radiological surveys, sample collection/analysis, radioactive waste management) and cross-functionally support HSE programs as needed
  • Provide input and feedback on radiation safety-related design decisions, leveraging knowledge and external experiences
  • Assist in development and rollout of radiation safety programs, procedures, and tools, including training, mentoring, and onboarding new staff to support HSE-RS culture
  • Develop partnerships with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to manage change, ensure safety/compliance of new systems, and set requirements for safe/compliant operations
  • Help operational teams understand site-specific and regulatory requirements and implement compliant solutions
