Requirements

8+ years of professional software development experience, including 2+ years in senior technical or leadership roles
Strong expertise in PHP and Laravel framework (including service providers, middleware, Eloquent ORM, and queue workers)
Proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript (or JavaScript) for building scalable backend services (e.g., Express.js)
Expertise in event-driven integration patterns using Kafka, RabbitMQ, and AWS SQS
Strong database experience with PostgreSQL (including TimescaleDB), MySQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch
Solid understanding of microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Experience with testing frameworks including PHPUnit, Codeception, Jest, and Mocha
Proven ability to architect and design scalable, distributed, cloud-native systems (AWS/Azure or GCP)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Strong grasp of software engineering principles, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and system design
Demonstrated leadership skills in mentoring engineers, driving technical excellence, and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Architect and implement scalable, secure, and performant solutions using Laravel, Node.js, and modern web technologies
Design and develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs that power core fleet management features (telematics, asset management, real-time tracking)
Build and optimize data processing pipelines handling high-volume telemetry and event streams from connected vehicles and devices
Design and implement event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, and AWS SQS, and implement robust authentication using Auth0 and Laravel Passport
Mentor and coach team members on technical design, coding standards, and professional development while producing clean, maintainable code and conducting thorough code reviews
Participate in an agile development team for planning and execution of work items
