Requirements

4+ years of experience in server administration or technical support
Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
Strong knowledge of MySQL and InnoDB
Strong understanding of Apache web server, SSL, and various configuration scenarios
Knowledge of networking, including IP and commonly used communication protocols
Understanding of Linux Firewall and ability to build one
Knowledge of intrusion detection/prevention techniques
Fluent in speaking and writing English
On-call availability during night hours on a rotational basis
Nice to Have
Understanding of "high availability" concepts
Experience with Big Data technologies, including setting up and running Hadoop clusters
Ability to understand code written in Python or PHP
Knowledge of regular expressions
Knowledge of hardware
Experience using GIT
Knowledge of French or Romanian

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and upgrade Ubuntu and Debian Linux servers
Monitor systems and applications, perform performance analysis
Manage manual and automated software deployments
Work with highly-available and redundant systems
Automate various tasks through scripting
Troubleshoot software and hardware in Debian Linux environment
Coach and mentor team members
