Requirements

8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership role
Strong background in full-stack or backend/frontend systems
Proven ability to lead technical projects, define architecture, and make strategic technology decisions
Hands-on expertise with modern frameworks such as React, Vue, Node.js, Java, or Python
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, infrastructure as code)
Deep understanding of software architecture, APIs, and distributed systems
Excellent communication and influencing skills — able to balance technical and business perspectives
Strong problem-solving mindset, capable of breaking down complex challenges and guiding others through ambiguity
Experience working in Agile, product-driven environments
Nice to Have: Experience working with large-scale eCommerce or retail platforms
Nice to Have: Previous exposure to Australian clients or multinational environments

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the design and development of scalable, secure, and maintainable software architectures
Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams across multiple streams or domains
Collaborate with product owners, delivery leads, and stakeholders to translate business needs into effective technical solutions
Drive architectural decisions, technical standards, and best practices across teams
Mentor and grow engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and collaboration
Conduct regular technical reviews, ensure system reliability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Partner with DevOps and QA to optimize CI/CD, testing, and observability
Stay current with emerging technologies and bring innovation into the engineering roadmap
Champion a healthy engineering culture — promoting autonomy, quality, and pragmatic problem-solving
