Requirements

Bachelor's of Engineering degree
5+ years of experience in project management, construction management, or operations leadership
Understanding of the Capital Delivery Process
Ability to perform moderate activity including time spent on a manufacturing floor and some physical work on equipment
Ability to organize and prioritize actions to help meet plant objectives and long-term vision
High level of professional maturity, including the ability to protect sensitive information
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to coach and train others

Responsibilities

Lead the plant Capital Projects Delivery Process and execute initiatives to drive Company strategy
Ensure all phases of the Capital Project Delivery process are followed and executed timely and efficiently
Drive cost effective resolutions across multidisciplinary teams to help maintain/grow profit margins
Write project charters and funding requests
Lead the development of project cost estimates and manage projects to meet estimates 80% of the time
Develop and manage project schedules to meet project objectives 95% of the time
Establish project practices and procedures including ones related to safety, quality, cost, and schedule
Manage project changes and the decision-making process
Drive resolution of key technical issues within the team; ensure all Smucker engineering and code requirements are met
Understand and utilize key project support systems like Marketplace and Spotfire
Clearly communicate project status, outages and watchouts as the primary link between the project team and upper management
Understand key roles of Smucker employees and contractors and mesh the two for seamless project execution
Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, operation leaders, and technicians to successfully execute a project
Work with operations and product development to determine internal customer needs
Provide technical support to Project Managers in the areas of project controls, budget, and accounting systems
Ensure that projects are documented in accordance with good engineering practices
Help coach and develop Operational Process Engineers
