Job Description

Montu is seeking three Lead Engineers to join its rapidly growing engineering team, which has expanded to over 100 members. This is a unique opportunity for external hires to bring fresh perspectives and shape the future of engineering at Montu, following a history of internal promotions for leadership roles.

We are looking for individuals driven by scale, complexity, and meaningful product impact, who value team culture as much as clean code.

The Opportunities

Each of the three B2C squads has a distinct focus:

Team One: Online Medication Fulfilment Experience

• Domain: Managing the clinic–pharmacy intermediary system, focusing on accounts and medication requests. A new audience rollout and project launch are upcoming.
• Tech Stack: TypeScript, NestJS, Kafka. Experience with integrations like eRx or Shopify is a bonus.
• Team Size: 6 engineers
• Values: Empathetic leadership, uplifting the team, and setting a high technical bar with a strong bias for action.

Team Two: Logistics, Ordering, and Large-Scale Fulfilment

• Domain: Handling logistics, ordering, and large-scale fulfilment processes.
• Tech Stack: Node.js, AWS, Kafka, experience with complex systems and high-volume transactions.
• Team Size: 13 engineers
• Style: Focus on scalable backend systems with complex workflows.

Team Three: Patient-Practitioner Consultations and Clinical Workflows

• Domain: Developing tools for patient-practitioner consultations and clinical workflows.
• Tech Stack: React, NestJS, AWS (CDK), monorepo. Amazon Connect experience is a bonus.
• Team Size: 7 engineers
• Focus: Building fast, responsive tools that facilitate seamless patient-caregiver connections.
• Values: Technical leadership grounded in empathy, clear communication, and a strong sense of business impact.

What You’ll Do

• Lead your squad’s technical direction and architecture.
• Collaborate with other engineering leads and the Principal Engineer to influence broader technical decisions.
• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing systems.
• Mentor engineers, fostering their growth through pairing, code reviews, and guidance.
• Collaborate with product and business teams to deliver impactful outcomes.
• Champion clean code, strong testing practices, and technical excellence.
• Contribute to shaping Montu’s engineering culture beyond your immediate team.
