Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Extensive professional engineering experience in related field (at least 5 years)
  • Experience with schematic capture, for example Altium
  • Experience with electronic circuit debug, test, and simulation tools
  • Experience with requirement management tools, for example Doors or Jama
  • OE Automotive/Tier 1 experience with powertrain systems/components (desired)
  • Experience with Lithium-Ion battery systems (desired)
  • Solid communication and organizational skills
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Office Suites)
  • Fluency in English (must), German strongly desirable (B2 level preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Review customer specifications, industry standards, regulatory standards and internal design guidelines to establish product electrical requirements
  • Perform requirement analysis and validation planning activities in accordance with automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes
  • Perform design verification activities such as engineering analysis, simulation, design reviews, DFMEAs, validation testing and reporting in accordance with automotive functional safety and ASPICE processes
  • Create core and customer electronic circuit designs covering analog, digital, micro-controller architecture, and power supplies
  • Generate technical requirements of electrical architecture and electrical circuit design, components and sub-assemblies including PCBA, contactors, fans, temperature sensors, Flex PCBs and other electrical hardware
  • Generate hardware / software interface specifications and electronic test software requirements, working closely with the embedded software engineering team
  • Use electronic design and development tools proficiently, including schematic capture, layout, analysis, and simulation
  • Design and test for vehicle level electrical and electromagnetic performance per customer requirements; optimize electrical system design to balance cost, performance, mass, volume, and energy efficiency
  • Review electrical design analyses and test results in support of design verification; define test setups, plans, and execute tests for electrical circuits and components
  • Evaluate Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders for completeness
  • Lead technical investigations and resolutions of electrical component and circuit issues
  • Develop relationships with suppliers to deliver components to specifications
  • Actively participate on assigned project teams and tasks with other engineering disciplines
  • Work independently, managing on-time tasks and responsibilities while performing some tasks under guidance
