Requirements

  • Knowledge of substation power system planning, engineering, maintenance, and operations
  • Strong background in process improvement
  • Understanding of NERC, ISO-NE, and NPCC standards
  • Combination of strong technical knowledge and business acumen
  • Understanding of the New England Regulatory environment
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team, applying effective leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of information technology and use of Eversource’s office automation and information systems
  • Ability to enhance internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to make formal presentations and translate technical information into terms that are meaningful to the audience
  • Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary

  • Ability to work hybrid schedule (at least three days in office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, up to five days if needed)

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers in Asset Management to ensure Eversource's Business Strategy for the Transmission program provides highest levels of system reliability at lowest possible costs
  • Manage transmission substation programs and budgets
  • Identify process improvements with respect to development, approval, and management of transmission projects
  • Develop best practices and strategies for developing required design deliverables and milestones of the transmission capital programs
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with other functions to ensure high level of interaction and quality communications
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day activities of the team
  • Provide input to the development and prioritization of the Transmission capital budget, ensuring highest priority needs are met
  • Support the initiation and funding of substation driven capital projects and programs
  • Participate in the development of the five-year, three-state Transmission Substation Capital Budget
  • Supervise the performance of the assigned team
  • Develop employees through performance management, coaching, and rotational assignments as appropriate
  • Support the development of organization plans and processes to drive overall efficiency and culture change
