Description: Sonar is seeking a passionate Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to lead and mentor the IT Operations team in managing AWS cloud infrastructure and security. The role focuses on building and maintaining IT Infrastructure and Security services in the cloud, with a focus on AWS, Azure, and GCP. The goal is to implement massively scalable services, automate operations, and continuously improve service and deployment processes.

Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience with AWS implementations and automating deployments.
  • Cloud Background: Prod-oriented, AWS Cloud background, and a belief in DevOps profiles working together as a tightly-knit team.
  • Certification: AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Be the technical lead for the company’s AWS Organizations in the scope of infrastructure, network, and security.
  • Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable, and reliable services policies and standards.
  • Lead the extension of the cloud infrastructure network, keeping it secure and ZTA compliant.
  • Ensure traffic is inspected, monitored, and controlled.

Team Management

  • Organize the cloud engineering squad’s agenda, Jira project tasks, and priorities aligned with business needs.
  • Mentor and guide the team to top performance.

IAM & Security

  • Be the AWS Identity Access Management (IAM) advisor and policy lead administrator.

Architecture & Implementation

  • Continuously and proactively enhance the architecture design and implementation, considering performance, disaster recovery, and costs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (CIO, Data team, Release engineering, etc.) to ensure solutions fit into the Sonar ecosystem.

Operational Tasks

  • Own testability of the infrastructure (deploy, validate, tear-down).
  • Ensure platforms and capabilities operate within region and account limits to ensure scalability.
  • Dedicate effort to improve resilience and scalability tests in performance environments.

Documentation & Sharing

  • Document as-is and future state solutions to maintain evergreen documentation.
  • Share reusable building blocks.
