Requirements

  • 6+ years of corporate, issues, and crisis communications experience at an agency or in-house for a consumer technology company
  • Proven knowledge of Latin American media markets, especially Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and Argentina
  • Experience managing PR agencies and/or working within an agency environment
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, and either Spanish or Portuguese (bonus points if you have both!)
  • Ability to interpret and adapt communications for cultural nuance across diverse audiences
  • Confident media liaison skills with a track record of managing press relationships in sensitive contexts
  • Experience addressing and advising on sensitive topics in the tech, social, or LGBTQ+ spaces
  • Familiarity with Grindr’s mission, industry, and community

Responsibilities

  • Lead corporate PR initiatives, with emphasis on issues and crisis management
  • Develop and execute proactive and reactive media strategies to protect and enhance Grindr’s reputation
  • Via retained agency(s), serve as a primary liaison to media, particularly in Latin America (Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina), building and maintaining strong journalist relationships
  • Manage PR agencies and external partners, ensuring alignment with Grindr’s communications goals
  • Draft press releases, statements, Q&As, and executive talking points for sensitive and complex issues
  • Advise internal stakeholders on culturally appropriate messaging and communications strategies
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage, reporting insights and recommendations to leadership
  • Collaborate across Marketing, Legal, Policy, and Trust & Safety teams on integrated communications strategies
  • Support corporate announcements, executive visibility, and thought leadership programs
  • Work in close collaboration with the Public Affairs team
