Requirements

Ability to work in an environment with elevated noise, smoke, and fumes exposure
Familiarity with industrial cleaning facilities
Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand/walk for extended periods of time
Ability to wear safety PPE (e.g., steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses)

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, vacuum floors and use floor cleaning equipment in the shop including welding area and walkways to maintain a clean and safe environment
Remove metal dust and debris generated from welding and preparation areas
Empty general and scrap metal waste bins and dispose of waste in accordance with company policies
Clean locker rooms, lunch room including appliances and counters
Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and replenishing supplies
Quickly respond to and clean up non-hazardous spills (e.g., water, oil and other leaks)
Maintain cleanliness of entrances, exits, and outdoor areas near the shop including yard and parking lot
Follow cleaning schedules and checklists for daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
Report any safety hazards, damage, or required repairs to supervisors
Handle cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
Ensure proper storage and restock inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
Practice good housekeeping, including 5S requirements, and time management in the performance of daily duties
Comply with all legislated and Company Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Lean policies, procedures, and programs
Perform all other duties as assigned
