Requirements

  • Direct experience minimum of 3 years specifically in resource management, workforce planning, project coordination, or a related analytical role, within an IT or professional services environment
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, modeling)
  • Experience with Resource Management or Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools is highly desirable
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a strong asset
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from technical staff to senior leadership

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust forecasting models for IT resource demand, considering project pipelines, skills availability, and business priorities
  • Strategically plan and manage the allocation of IT professionals to projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements, budgets, and timelines
  • Analyze resource utilization, project data, and skills information to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Prepare and present insightful reports and dashboards for senior leadership
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Team Leads, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, resolve staffing conflicts, and facilitate clear communication
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with IT staff to understand their skills, career aspirations, and development goals, aiding in the allocation of meaningful and impactful work
  • Identify opportunities and provide recommendations to enhance resource management processes, tools, and policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Proactively manage resource contention and capacity constraints, proposing creative solutions to ensure project timelines and business objectives are met
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for resource management tools and best practices, promoting interdepartmental cooperation and knowledge sharing
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive skills inventory and capacity plan for IT personnel to support effective and strategic allocation decisions
  • Facilitate workshops, seminars, and other learning activities to enhance employee skills and knowledge
