Requirements

  • 16+ years of IT experience with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, MCA, or MSc
  • 16+ years working in some combination of IT operations, procurement, or vendor management; where influencing supplier behavior was a core part of the position
  • 10+ years working with IT services suppliers, with particular emphasis on large, multinational firms such as Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, HCL, Accenture, IBM, etc
  • 7+ years creating and driving vendor strategy, aligning customer requirements with third-party services, delivering successful outcomes via internal/external teams
  • Experience working with global teams in a follow-the-sun model; effective working with people and teams across APAC
  • Based in Hyderabad, India, requiring working from the office 4–5 days a week

Responsibilities

  • Help develop the vendor management strategy for Global IT’s services suppliers, taking a long-term view that considers cost, quality, supplier mix, capability areas, competitive leverage, and preferred providers
  • Work collaboratively with the VMO team, internal customers, and external third-party IT services providers to align strategy with execution
  • Provide local team leadership for all VMO employees at MEIC, creating a culture of excellence and sense of teamwork, growing and developing each person while ensuring harmony and cohesiveness across the global VMO function
  • Create and maintain relationships with Top 10 Indian-based IT services suppliers, including site visits, audits, and local, face-to-face investment in strategic partners to map out priorities, influence outcomes, and ensure Medtronic’s needs are met
  • Communicate past, present, and future IT services narratives effectively, taking a data-driven, objective view of performance and using internal and external feedback to create continuous improvement in service delivery
  • Deliver measurable quality and performance improvements year-over-year, as seen in both monthly SLA/KPI metrics and customer satisfaction scores
  • Deliver measurable financial value year-over-year, from cost savings, cost avoidance, and supplier-driven AI, automation, process, and resource efficiency
