Requirements

  • Solid experience as a senior backend engineer or technical manager, preferably with JVM languages
  • Advanced knowledge in automated testing, CI/CD, and system monitoring
  • Advanced knowledge of the stack or analogous tools, including messaging (Kafka), cloud (AWS), DB (Postgres), platform (Kubernetes)
  • Previous experience with system documentation and DevEx culture
  • Ability to provide technical mentoring and lead by influence
  • Passion for best practices, clean code, and scalable engineering
  • Desirable Requirements
  • Experience with tools like SonarQube, Argo, Kibana, etc
  • Knowledge of modern observability and error tracking practices
  • Familiarity with agile squads and product culture
  • Previous experience in regulated environments (fintechs, banks, insurance, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of solutions and improvements involving architecture/tools
  • Guide application development and introduce implementation standards when necessary
  • Promote a culture of technical excellence with automations and documentation guides, leading by example
  • Define and disseminate engineering excellence standards, including the full suite of tests (smoke tests, unit tests, integration tests), monitoring, and observability
  • Lead internal continuous improvement initiatives: Tech Talks, DORA Metrics, Lead Time reduction, developer team empowerment
  • Support incident preparation and response, focusing on stability, robustness, and consistency in solutions
  • Serve as a reference in engineering best practices, leadership, and mentoring
