Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent
Zero to three years of related experience
Understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field of networking
General knowledge of other related IT disciplines
Entry-level knowledge of Cisco products & networking protocols
Basic troubleshooting skills using network tools
Basic network management and theories
Any working knowledge of relevant Cisco System platforms (preferred)
Experience with Cisco System’s equipment (plus)
Driver’s license
No requirement for immigration sponsorship
Must be available (working conditions)

Responsibilities

Assist senior level staff with the design, planning, and operation of corporate and operational data networks
Assist with configuration, installation, and management of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, data centers, VPN, and related network tools
Assist with network planning, engineering, and architecture designs
Assist with implementing routers, switches, Wi-Fi equipment, and reviewing current network topologies
Assist with troubleshooting network performance and identifying/resolving hardware and software technical problems related to network equipment
Ensure a stable network environment for all business and operational applications
Participate in IT projects to improve/upgrade network/telecommunications infrastructure
Under direct supervision, maintain technical knowledge in network and computer hardware/software interconnection, including routers, switches, multiplexors, gateways, communications processors, network OS, protocols, monitoring platforms, sniffers, IP Telephony (VOIP), IP video conferencing, multimedia delivery, and performance
Assist with updating documentation for network architecture and planning total network integration
Assist with evaluating complex existing network systems and recommending resources to maintain/expand service levels
Assist with recommending solutions to performance, tuning, and capacity issues; provide network performance and capacity consulting for new application projects
Assist with acting as a consultant to provide business recommendations on solutions
Assist with monitoring the network and arranging corrective actions for high quality transmission
Assist with third-party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshooting problems with department users and LAN/WAN administrators
Assist with technical white papers and enterprise architecture plans for the enterprise data network
Assist with 2nd level technical support and consultation to operations, other technical services groups, support center; troubleshoot network, server, and client-based communication problems across platforms
Assist with corporate business requirements to vendors, vendor proposals, and enterprise-wide technical RFPs relating to network design and applications
