Candidates should have 3-5 years of payroll experience, including international payroll administration, with strong working knowledge of UK payroll requirements and additional experience in Germany, Australia, France, and Canada. Hands-on experience using a global payroll platform like Deel or similar is required, along with familiarity with local statutory requirements, tax regulations, pension schemes, and benefits. Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems, strong Excel skills, excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. The ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritize effectively is also essential. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent experience is preferred, and payroll certifications are a plus.
The International Payroll Specialist will manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local laws and regulations. This role involves serving as the primary liaison with the payroll partner, Deel, for data submission, validation, issue resolution, and process improvements. Responsibilities include reviewing, reconciling, and approving monthly payroll reports, coordinating timely salary payments, and maintaining and updating employee payroll records. The specialist will ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal teams on cross-functional initiatives, and respond to employee inquiries related to pay, taxes, and deductions. Additionally, they will support payroll-related projects, process improvements, and the implementation of new tools or enhancements, assist in audit preparation and participation, and stay informed about changes to international payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices.
