Requirements

  • Texas medical license
  • Active practice
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine
  • Experience and expertise in analyzing the application of CPT codes in combination with usual and customary rates and state fee schedules, in addition to clinical expertise
  • Counter-affidavit/testimony/deposition work experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Accept cases on a contract basis as individual schedule permits
  • Review all medical records
  • Complete the counter-affidavit process addressing each question and all clinical concerns as well as any charges/fee concerns based upon expertise as a clinician and standards and norms in terms of fees/charges in Texas practice
  • Provide copies of any criteria utilized in a review with the report in a timely manner
  • Return cases on or before the due date and time specified
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including addressing any necessary clarification, providing addenda as required (with additional compensation), and identifying and responding to client questions as necessary
  • Be available for deposition and trial expert support
