Majoring in Mechanical Engineering
Strong academic performance
Authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
Availability for spring, summer, and/or fall semesters
Availability for multiple work terms is preferred
Valid driver's license
Concurrent enrollment in a degree-seeking program
Military experience a plus

Responsibilities

Become familiar with industry codes and best practices
Build critical thinking skills
Gain understanding of how engineering disciplines work together
Gain knowledge of refinery operations by working with teams on specific refining processes
Work on multiple areas of the refinery for broad plant understanding
Expand written and verbal presentation skills
As Area Refining Engineer/Project Engineer: develop project scopes, estimates, and schedules; oversee design effort and assist in construction; manage projects of all sizes
As Reliability Engineer: support Maintenance Department through design and development of equipment improvements; perform root cause failure analysis; optimize maintenance programs for rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, etc.); troubleshoot fixed equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, etc.); identify new technology in design, materials, and repair methods
