Requirements

1 year of prior experience in sales preferred, but not required
1 year of customer service experience preferred, but not required
Insurance sales experience preferred, but not required
A valid insurance license for assigned State(s) is preferred. If not already licensed, must obtain Property and Casualty license within specified period of time to remain employed and pass licensing exam within the specified number of attempts
Must be proficient in Spanish and English
Above average communication skills to represent the company in a professional manner and communicate effectively with potential customers
Previous experience with Excel, Word, and web-based systems preferred
Experience with and the ability to use a PC to perform daily duties required
Must be detail oriented and accurate and have the ability to work independently following strict procedural guidelines
Work schedule may fluctuate based on business needs
Must complete all required training in a timely manner including detailed knowledge of Kemper products and coverages

Responsibilities

Interact and build lasting relationships with clients to have an impact on their life and our community while attending to their insurance needs
Engage customers via inbound and outbound telephone calls to assess insurance needs and rating variables
Complete sale of policy by collecting down payment and uploading policy
Perform cross selling on other services offered by the company (property insurance, commercial insurance, etc.)
Maintain records on customers including information about the consumer, source of lead, response to quote/offer application and policy according to procedures established by management
Interact with prospective customers in a professional manner to provide them with an insurance quote and if purchased, convert the lead to an actual policy
Assist customer with other services as appropriate
Prepare insurance quotes, advise customers on coverages, and convert quotes to insurance policies
