Journeyman Certificate in Instrumentation or Electrical with 3–5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, or Technical/Vocational School diploma with 5–8 years of electrical work experience
Valid driver's license to operate company vehicles
Good understanding of the pharmaceutical/bio-technology industry and operations, along with technical proficiency
Demonstrated knowledge in relevant technical areas and solid understanding of GMP manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities
Good communication and organizational skills; ability to interact with all levels of the organization, articulate issues and solutions, and produce effective project reports and presentations
Ability to analyze problems and provide support for corrective and preventative actions with minimal assistance
Capable of managing multiple assignments, prioritizing work, and being flexible/responsive to changes
Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and high surface temperatures using appropriate PPE
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements, and modifications to process instrumentation/controls on production and utility equipment (e.g., fillers, robots, cartoners, case packers, boilers, RO water system, Clean Steam generator, WFI)
Install, configure, maintain, and repair complex computer systems (e.g., Process Logic Controllers, Distributive control systems) and state-of-the-art electronic ("smart") process instruments, including expertise in older pneumatic technologies
Provide training on maintenance of instrumentation and electrical equipment/systems in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM)
Serve as maintenance advisor for projects, providing input on equipment design, parts/material selection, documentation, testing, problem solving, maintenance requirements, project scope, and follow-up
Perform priority assessment and decision-making for troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and proactive maintenance of equipment/systems in a cost-effective manner
Read and understand drawings/blueprints for installation/repair of new and existing equipment
Use test/calibration instruments and computers for troubleshooting and equipment diagnostics
Assist with the operation and maintenance of qualified utilities
