Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or three years of field equipment service experience
  • Familiarity and prior experience with Tecan automation hardware/software preferred
  • Hands-on experience maintaining, calibrating, repairing electromechanical medical devices
  • Ability to read and use schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Able to work in a laboratory setting with some degree of PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
  • Be able to travel 70% of the time at minimum
  • Availability to travel to any covered region when required
  • Ability to work independently scheduling planned maintenance, and on demand services
  • Can interface comfortably with customers who may be in a stressful situation

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, repair, test, calibrate and maintain electro-mechanical instrumentation and systems supported by TDX
  • Inspect and/or test electronic and mechanical parts and components to drawing tolerances and written specifications
  • Provide basic problem solving, installation, maintenance and service repair needs on designated equipment following technical service manuals
  • Complete Preventative Maintenance and Field Upgrade Modifications per instructions (e.g., upgrades, technical bulletins, service manuals)
  • Order and handle repair parts cycle times
  • Keep up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner
  • Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer happiness
  • Maintain tools and test equipment properly and ensure they are calibrated
  • Meet Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Apply internal processes to resolve customer service delivery issues and conduct root cause analysis for effective problem solving
  • Develop in-depth and detailed technical knowledge of One Lambda (TDX) equipment to conduct installation, calibration, maintenance, service and support
  • Provide field-response to support all One Lambda automation
  • Work well with technical and non-technical team members, with frequent interaction and communication (telephone and email) with TDX Customers, Sales personnel, Product Specialists, Customer Support, vendors, regulatory (internal and external), quality control
  • Take direction from Field Service Manager, Product Equipment Specialist as well as Technical Product Manager
  • Maintain the confidentiality of critical laboratory and business data
  • Define and implement work schedule to include travel requirements within budgetary guidelines
  • Maintain a positive professional relationship with customers and Sales Team through timely coordination and communication
