Candidates must be at least 21 years of age to rent a vehicle and meet company vehicle requirements. Prior experience with field work such as construction, security systems, or low voltage wiring is a plus. Prior knowledge of operating a bucket truck, comfort driving a work van and occasionally a pickup truck or towing a trailer is required. Prior use of power tools, motor vehicles, and heavy equipment is necessary. Handyman-like experience, good time-management, organization, and communication skills are needed. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, working on ladders at high heights, and have general tech knowledge with the ability to learn new software. Basic computer skills including Office Suite, Google Suite, and email are required.
Technicians will install poles by digging holes, mounting solar panels and external batteries, and affixing cameras. They will work on public and private roads, often on equipment 10-12 feet high, and occasionally up to 30 feet using a bucket truck or ladder. Responsibilities include repairing minor breaks in underground irrigation or private wiring, performing site surveys, interpreting traffic control plans, and meeting with customers to discuss installation options. Technicians will also provide installation pictures via the Flock field app, manage inventory, receive product shipments, and perform work in a safe and professional manner.
