Responsibilities

  • Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits
  • Troubleshoot print and bill of materials problems
  • Recommend methods of assembly and production
  • Perform inspection on first piece, in-process, purchased part, and finished material and products, ensuring conformance to specifications
  • Test finished products for dimensions, fit, and appearance
  • Perform tests including hardness testing and holiday testing
  • Route product for re-work
  • Complete all required records and paperwork, including inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and re-work orders
  • Process purchase damage numbers when incorrect material is received
  • Ensure finished product is packaged and loaded correctly to minimize possible damage during transportation and incorrect product shipped
  • Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards
  • Communicate with plant supervision noted deviations of tolerances and quality
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability
  • Observe safe work habits and maintain cleanliness of the work area
