Responsibilities

Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits
Troubleshoot print and bill of materials problems
Recommend methods of assembly and production
Perform inspection on first piece, in-process, purchased part, and finished material and products, ensuring conformance to specifications
Test finished products for dimensions, fit, and appearance
Perform tests including hardness testing and holiday testing
Route product for re-work
Complete all required records and paperwork, including inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and re-work orders
Process purchase damage numbers when incorrect material is received
Ensure finished product is packaged and loaded correctly to minimize possible damage during transportation and incorrect product shipped
Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards
Communicate with plant supervision noted deviations of tolerances and quality
Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability
Observe safe work habits and maintain cleanliness of the work area
