Role Overview

The role is responsible for modernizing, securing, and scaling our data platforms to support evolving business and application needs. The Database Engineer is focused on building resilient, automated systems while enabling cross-functional teams to implement scalable and secure data solutions across cloud and on-premise environments. Lead initiatives to modernize legacy database environments, implement automation, and design fault-tolerant systems in hybrid cloud infrastructures. The role requires working closely with engineering, security, and business stakeholders to build and maintain database environments that are performant, secure, and cost-effective. A key focus of this role will be driving a self-service model, empowering developers and engineers with tools and frameworks to independently interact with backend database systems across on-prem, cloud, and SaaS environments.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a relevant technical certification
  • Total Experience: 15 years of experience working in database administration, database engineering or related role.
  • Resilient Environments: 15 years of experience building & managing redundant, secured, and resilient Database environments, including On-Prem & Cloud.
  • Relational Databases: 10 years of experience with Relational Databases including MS-SQL, MySQL, and Postgres.
  • No-SQL Databases: 5 years of experience with No-SQL Databases including MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
  • Cloud Platforms: 5 years of experience working with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Database Automation: 5 years of experience with database automation.
  • Infrastructure as Code: 3 years of experience working with infrastructure as code and tools similar to Terraform.
  • Scripting Languages: 3 years of experience working with scripting languages including Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Operating Systems: 3 years of experience working with Linux.
  • Interview: Must successfully complete a competency-based interview.
  • Work Location: Fully remote

Salary Range

Expected salary range is $150,000.00 to $190,000/year.
