A minimum of 15 years of experience in database administration, database engineering, or a related role is required, with 15 years of experience in building and managing redundant, secured, and resilient database environments, including both on-premises and cloud setups. The role also requires 10 years of experience with relational databases such as MS-SQL, MySQL, and Postgres, and 5 years of experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB, Cassandra, and Redis. Additionally, 5 years of experience with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, and GCP, 5 years of experience with database automation, 3 years of experience with infrastructure as code and tools like Terraform, 3 years of experience with scripting languages including Bash, Python, and PowerShell, and 3 years of experience working with Linux are necessary. Candidates must also successfully complete a competency-based interview.

Responsibilities

The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for modernizing, securing, and scaling data platforms to meet evolving business and application needs. This role involves building resilient, automated systems and enabling cross-functional teams to implement scalable and secure data solutions across cloud and on-premise environments. Key duties include leading initiatives to modernize legacy database environments, implementing automation, and designing fault-tolerant systems in hybrid cloud infrastructures. The administrator will collaborate with engineering, security, and business stakeholders to build and maintain performant, secure, and cost-effective database environments and drive a self-service model to empower developers and engineers.
