Requirements

Candidates should possess a strong knowledge of data center architecture, including minimum design requirements for network, compute, and storage racks, as well as layers 2/3 and virtualization platforms. Proven experience in a colocation, inside plant, or telecommunications facilities engineer role in a large-scale data center or telecom environment is required, along with a solid understanding of physical design standards and IT security best practices. Applicants should also demonstrate a strong understanding of public cloud infrastructure and cloud-native applications, preferably with experience in scaling a geographically diverse production network. Excellent troubleshooting skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and relevant certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, VCP, or Autodesk Certified Professional would be beneficial. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Infrastructure Design Engineer will design and create layouts of data center infrastructure, encompassing facilities structure, cabinets, overhead ladders, raceways, structured cabling, and aisles. They will perform capacity planning and resource allocation to ensure scalability and efficiency, monitor and optimize infrastructure performance to meet SLAs, troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams, implement and maintain security measures, plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations, document configurations and procedures, stay informed about data center technologies, and utilize AutoCAD to create technical drawings and models.
