Requirements

  • Must be able to work in cold/damp/warm conditions
  • Must be able to lift/push 40 plus pounds
  • Must always ensure safety and be responsible for keeping work area free of clutter/tripping hazards and organized
  • Must be able to perform machine checks, follow instructions, and document findings
  • Must be able to place eggs/chicks in trays and move trays
  • Must be able to pull/place eggs/chicks, grade eggs/chicks, breakouts, wash trays and machines, clean/move buggies, place chicks in houses, mix vaccine, dispense formaldehyde, run Embrex
  • Must be able to obtain lockout tagout certification, forklift and moffett license, pass respiratory breathing test for use with respirator
  • Must wear respirator when dispensing formaldehyde (no beard older than 24 hours; mustache, if worn, must be cropped at corners of mouth)
  • Must be able to stand duration of shift (usually 10 hours with two unpaid 30-minute breaks)
  • Must have good hand/eye coordination
  • Includes lifting, pulling, pushing, squatting, climbing, bending, reaching, rolling buggies, operate various pallet jacks
  • Willing to work scheduled shifts (Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday 4:00 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.), overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Wear required PPE: gloves (if desired), water/skid proof footwear, electric hand jack, ear protection (plugs or muffs), hair bonnet, beard guard (if desired)

  • Pull/place eggs/chicks, grade eggs/chicks, perform breakouts
  • Wash trays and machines, clean/move buggies
  • Place chicks in houses
  • Mix vaccine, dispense formaldehyde, run Embrex
  • Ensure safety, keep work area free of clutter/tripping hazards, and organized
  • Perform other duties as tasked by administration
  • Observe all Tyson policies and procedures
