Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Industrial Relations, or a related field
  • Fluent English
  • Extensive knowledge of labor law, employee relations best practices, collective bargaining processes, grievance management, and disciplinary action
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain productive relationships with employees, unions, and management
  • Deep understanding of organizational strategy and business operations, with the ability to integrate labor relations considerations into decision-making and planning
  • Awareness of international labor trends, legal frameworks, and cultural nuances affecting labor relations, with ability to adapt strategies to diverse regulatory environments
  • Strong understanding of the organization’s mission, vision, culture, and structure, and ability to align labor relations initiatives with business objectives
  • Skilled in analyzing complex labor issues, weighing risks and benefits, and making informed decisions using data and sound judgment
  • Proficient in influencing tactics, persuasive communication, and negotiation strategies to resolve disputes and foster positive relations
  • Experience in attracting, developing, and retaining talent within labor relations contexts

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to management, identifying, prioritizing, and executing labor relations initiatives that align with organizational goals and enhance workplace harmony
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve HR policies and programs within the business unit or region, focusing on healthy labor relations, employee engagement, retention, and performance
  • Act as a trusted coach for leaders and managers on labor-related matters, including performance management, compensation, benefits, grievance handling, and collective bargaining
  • Analyze labor-related HR metrics and data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing data-driven recommendations to senior management for proactive labor relations management
  • Lead and develop a team of HR professionals dedicated to labor relations, ensuring effective collaboration with other HR Centers of Excellence and establishing the function as a thought leader in labor relations practices
