Requirements

  • Strong background in medical treatment information and collaboration with local healthcare providers for employee care and case management
  • Knowledge of workers’ compensation processes, OSHA 300 log, safety audits, and record keeping
  • Expertise in Behavior Based Safety (BBS) implementation and management
  • Familiarity with Federal, State, Local regulations (OSHA, TOSHA, NIOSH, EPA, NFPA, etc.) and company policies
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis, hazard identification, and accident investigations
  • Experience with safety training, orientation, audits, and emergency response procedures
  • Proficiency in industrial hygiene testing (e.g., noise surveys) and environmental permits (e.g., SWPPP, SPCC)

Responsibilities

  • Promote and maintain IKO safety goals, ensure a safe work environment, lead safety and housekeeping efforts, and drive corrective actions for zero incidents
  • Develop goals, objectives, systems, plant-wide policies, and procedures for health and safety; communicate and implement accident prevention methods
  • Identify health and safety hazards, investigate accidents, conduct root cause analysis, and eliminate hazards via engineering controls, training, PPE, etc
  • Manage safety and workers’ compensation activities, including first reports of injury, OSHA 300 log, audits, insurance communications, physician/associate communications, and record keeping
  • Complete all safety audits, records, and reports on time; file and maintain safety records
  • Monitor plant safety performance and trends to minimize incidents, protect associates, and reduce company risk
  • Implement and manage Behavior Based Safety (BBS)
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers for employee care and case management; coordinate with external providers for claims management and return-to-work practices
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, Local, and Company health, safety, and environmental regulations/policies
  • Lead IKO Safety and BBS teams; conduct required safety training and orientation
  • Participate in and lead internal/external surveillance audits; perform/coordinate testing (e.g., noise surveys, industrial hygiene)
  • Develop, update, and implement emergency response procedures
  • Complete and maintain environmental permits, records, audits, and reports (e.g., SWPPP, SPCC, air, stormwater, wastewater)
  • Interface with government regulatory personnel and corporate auditors
