Requirements

  • Ability to support qualification and screening of external partners through LRL risk management oversight program (PQA), evaluating HSE capabilities against regulatory requirements and Lilly HSE expectations
  • Capability to lead HSE screening process, including outreach, distributing questionnaires, and conducting virtual assessments
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills with internal LRL teams (discovery, small molecule, biologics, devices, clinical development, packaging)
  • Proficiency in coordinating assessments across multiple time zones and managing calendars
  • Experience assisting with comprehensive HSE capability and risk assessments across rubrics (environmental management, industrial hygiene, HSE management systems, general safety, emergency preparedness, process safety management)
  • Skills in preparing detailed HSE risk assessment reports with findings, improvements, and action items
  • Ability to support CAPA tracking, monitoring responses, timelines, verifying actions, and maintaining documentation
  • Competence in preparing performance summaries and supporting ongoing HSE monitoring/re-assessments (virtual and onsite)
  • Knowledge to serve as HSE subject matter expert and technical consultant for external partner risk management
  • Expertise in addressing complex HSE challenges, including exposure/containment strategies for critical partnerships
  • Ability to facilitate HSE information exchanges and act as liaison during incidents (response, investigation, corrective actions)
  • Contribution to maintaining/evolving assessment tools, processes, and communication strategies
  • Leadership in developing digital tools/automation for assessments, data quality, and reporting
  • Skills in process standardization (documenting workflows, creating templates, change management)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of emerging HSE and Discovery/R&D issues

Responsibilities

  • Support qualification and screening of external partners via LRL PQA program, focusing on HSE capabilities
  • Lead HSE screening by initiating outreach, distributing questionnaires, and conducting virtual assessments
  • Collaborate with internal LRL teams to identify and mitigate HSE risks before project initiation
  • Coordinate onsite assessment scheduling across time zones
  • Assist in conducting HSE capability and risk assessments across multiple rubrics
  • Prepare detailed HSE risk assessment reports with findings, improvements, and recommendations
  • Support CAPA tracking, monitoring, verification, and documentation
  • Support partner performance reviews by preparing summaries
  • Assist in ongoing HSE monitoring and re-assessments (virtual/onsite)
  • Provide strategic HSE guidance as subject matter expert for external partners
  • Serve as technical resource for complex HSE challenges and containment strategies
  • Facilitate HSE information exchanges between LRL and external partners
  • Act as HSE liaison during partner incidents for response, investigation, and corrective actions
  • Contribute to maintenance/evolution of assessment tools, processes, and communication strategies
  • Lead development of digital tools/automation for streamlining assessments and reporting
  • Assist with process standardization via workflows, templates, and change management
