Study.com is seeking passionate individuals to write practice test questions online, assisting students in preparing for professional exams. As a Practice Test Writer, you’ll create a variety of question types based on provided materials, ensuring accuracy and relevance to standardized tests. This is a fully online, remote contract role, paid per piece.

Requirements

  • Education: A Master’s Degree or higher and/or up-to-date professional license/credential in History & Social Studies. Alternatively, 2+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Knowledge and experience in exams such as:
    • Teaching Certificates (Praxis, ILTS, MTTC, GACE etc.)
    • Professional Certificates (SHRM, CPCE, FINRA Series 6, NCLEX etc.)
    • Military Exams (ASVAB, AFOQT, etc.)
  • Writing Skills: Excellent writing skills with correct English grammar and mechanics, and the ability to follow directions.
  • Self-Sufficiency & Communication: Self-motivated, responsive to feedback, and capable of working independently. Strong communication skills and collaboration abilities are required.

Responsibilities

  • Write a variety of question types containing clear and relevant content according to project specifications.
  • Utilize provided materials (learning objectives, sample questions) to create questions that align with the content, format, and difficulty of real standardized tests.
  • Maintain accuracy and relevance in all written materials.
  • Collaborate with a supportive team, responding to feedback and contributing to project goals.
