Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Five (5) years of demonstrable experience
  • Experience with installation, configuration, and networking of UNIX and/or NT (Linux/Windows) based platforms
  • Experience creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts, performing system back-ups, and maintaining system configuration files
  • Fundamental understanding of operating systems and familiarity with UNIX or NT commands/utilities at the user level
  • Experience with installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and commercial software packages
  • Experience developing and implementing enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation, and verification of the health and status of the entire IT infrastructure
  • Experience providing support for enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, e-mail services, security protection mechanisms, and interoperability of UNIX and NT based systems
  • Experience with multi-vendor servers running COTS, open-source, and in-house applications for HPC support
  • Experience with multi-vendor servers running Red Hat or SuSe with direct attached, FC SAN storage, or SSDs
  • Experience with distributed computing tools such as ReS, LSF, and SLURM
  • Experience with HPC farm systems, HPC MPP clustered systems, front-end servers of special purpose devices (SPDs)
  • Experience with IBM or HP Blade servers with FC/SAS/Network back-end
  • Experience with multi-vendor filesystems such as XFS, GPFS, and Lustre
  • Experience with pre-factory testing, factory testing, system integration, and acceptance testing during HPC systems purchase process
  • Ability to work on-site in Ft. Meade, MD 20755 a minimum of 5 days per week (no relocation offered)

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain UNIX and/or NT based platforms, including creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts, performing system back-ups, and maintaining system configuration files
  • Develop and implement enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation, and verification of the health and status of the entire IT infrastructure
  • Provide support for enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, e-mail services, security protection mechanisms, and the interoperability of UNIX and NT based systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, working with cross-functional teams as needed
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of new systems and technologies
