Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience within pharmaceutical sector, with a proven record of leadership and commercial success
  • Experience leading managers or national sales teams within a matrix organization
  • Demonstrated experience across specialty prescription, pharmacy/OTC, and hospital channels
  • Proven track record in pharmaceutical marketing, product launches, and sales force effectiveness
  • Strong understanding of the Italian retail and pharmacy market, including established network with key wholesalers

Responsibilities

  • Develop, define and execute the national Sales Strategy aligned with Ferring’s business objectives and brand priorities
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term sales plans, including budget definition, performance monitoring, and control
  • Manage the Sales Budget (BUC) and ensure efficient allocation of resources across brands, channels, and regions
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Sales Team (3 Area Managers) to ensure performance excellence and strong field execution
  • Design and implement incentive plans to drive motivation and achievement of targets
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and prescribers in relevant therapeutic areas, main Italian Wholesalers (WHS) and leading pharmacy chains, key retail partners and pharmacy networks
  • Monitor national and regional sales performance, competitive dynamics, and market trends
  • Oversee implementation of SFE (Sales Force Effectiveness) processes including call plans, segmentation, and targeting
  • Support the introduction and launch of new products in collaboration with marketing and market access teams
  • Ensure compliance with pricing, distribution, and promotional policies
  • Identify business development opportunities leveraging Ferring’s portfolio and customer synergies
  • Collaborate closely with Market Access to ensure optimal access strategies across Italian regions, understanding local reimbursement and procurement dynamics
  • Represent Ferring at major congresses, scientific events, and industry meetings
  • Define, implement, and monitor the commercial strategy and sales plans for Ferring Italy, ensuring business growth, profitability, and market share expansion across all therapeutic areas and channels (prescription and retail)
