Requirements

  • Extensive Key Account experience and strong background in working and negotiating with national accounts
  • Experienced, motivating leader with deep understanding of scale-up dynamics, coaching, and managing a Key Account team through shifting priorities and complex partner negotiations
  • Ability to thrive in a matrix organization with direct and dotted-line reporting, and excellent at managing internal and external stakeholders
  • Proven track record of acquiring major key accounts, especially in grocery retail and HORECA
  • Data-driven approach, working with KPIs to track results, manage team, and refine strategy; proven experience with common sales tools (ideally Salesforce) is a bonus
  • Bold, big-picture thinker with passion for clear communication, spotting opportunities, chasing them, and turning ideas into impactful action

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Key Account team to involve all major partners in Spain in the mission to fight food waste
  • Build and develop a productive, efficient, and independent Key Account team through coaching and support using deep knowledge of sales and negotiation techniques
  • Play an active role in overall business development, lead by example, and make necessary business decisions
  • Manage the Key Account team, including 3 direct reports across three verticals
  • Build and grow partnerships with the largest national food retailers and HORECA operators
  • Structure and coordinate the rollout of new key accounts and drive Spain’s key account acquisition strategy
  • Conduct benchmarking and market analysis to identify key account strategies
  • Launch new initiatives to expand Key Account business, focusing on rescuing more food with partners and scaling global key account chains
  • Strategically develop existing accounts
  • Own the revenue, budget, and operating results for the Key Account department
  • Define and drive the national Key Account strategy for Spain
  • Personally acquire and develop the most important key partners
  • Set strategy, prioritize efforts, build and sustain a high-performing team, drive cross-functional collaboration, and achieve joint goals for Key Accounts
