Requirements

  • Engineering qualifications (electrical, mechanical, building services or related discipline)
  • 15+ years’ experience in technical operations and facilities management with major developers or asset owners
  • Proven success managing large, complex portfolios across retail, residential and industrial sectors
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience leading $10M+ OPEX/CAPEX budgets
  • Track record of building high-performing teams and driving contractor/vendor performance
  • Deep knowledge of compliance, safety, risk and sustainability frameworks
  • Engineer by training with career built in facilities and technical operations for major owners or developers
  • Experience leading diverse asset classes (large-format retail, residential, industrial)
  • Ability to work directly with Directors/owners, taking full accountability (not suited for highly structured corporate environments or agency/outsourced side without direct ownership)

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of facilities management and technical operations across the national portfolio
  • Take ownership of OPEX and CAPEX budgets, lifecycle planning and major works
  • Embed compliance, risk and sustainability frameworks across all asset classes
  • Partner closely with development teams to ensure operational readiness for new assets and expansions
  • Manage, mentor and grow a high-performing facilities team, supported by a strong network of contractors and service providers
  • Act as the technical advisor to the executive team, ensuring assets are future-proofed and aligned to long-term strategy
