Requirements

A broad knowledge of technology policy and artificial intelligence, its application, and uses is required, along with experience in understanding, debating, and shaping relevant EMEA policies and regulations. A strong aptitude for navigating intricate political and policy debates, prioritizing issues, and distilling key messages for various audiences is necessary. Experience in building and leading a government affairs team, advising, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders is also required. Responsibilities

The Head of EMEA Government Affairs will lead Cohere's EMEA government affairs strategy, reporting directly to the Global Head of Government Affairs & Public Policy. This role involves partnering with senior leadership, legal, public policy, and responsible AI teams to develop and implement government affairs and stakeholder engagement strategies. Responsibilities include expanding Cohere's profile as a thought leader on responsible AI policy, guiding political engagement in EMEA countries, cultivating relationships with government officials, lawmakers, and regulators, and influencing AI legislation and regulations. The role also includes working with public sector sales teams, monitoring and responding to governmental initiatives, supporting messaging with PR and marketing teams, managing government relations consultants and trade associations, and ensuring compliance with local lobbying laws.
