Requirements

Candidates must have a B.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar discipline, along with 6+ years of professional work experience and 3+ years in electronics development. Experience with testing electronic, automotive, aerospace, or vehicle components is required, as well as familiarity with design tools such as Altium for PCBA and 3D modeling tools like 3DExperience or Catia. Proficiency in using lab equipment including Environmental Chambers, Oscilloscopes, E-loads, VNA, TDR, and spectrum analyzers is essential, along with experience in Ubuntu and Python. Bonus qualifications include an M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering or a similar discipline, participation in team/club competitions, and foundational knowledge of systems and networking.

Responsibilities

The Hardware Engineer will be responsible for validating Zoox sense and computer hardware, collaborating with suppliers, design, system, and test engineers to ensure hardware compliance and identify failure modes. They will draft and review Design Validation Plans, execute tests as the primary contact for EVT, DVT, and PVT validation strategy, and develop test infrastructure by setting requirements for testing tools. Additionally, they will draft and present Test Plans, Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, and Data Reviews, while consulting on documentation release for standards, design, and risk assessments.
