Requirements

Candidates must be Board Certified M.D. or D.O. with current, unrestricted clinical license in any State in the U.S., possessing a minimum of five years postgraduate experience and extensive clinical business background. Working knowledge of URAC and relevant State and Federal compliance guidelines is required, along with excellent communication skills and a high-level understanding of medical insurance and utilization management.

Responsibilities

The Group Health Medical Director will perform quality assurance training and audits on physician reviewers, serve as the clinical lead for the Group Health Department, assist with quality assurance of reports prior to submission to clients, manage and train new physician advisors and existing panel physicians, and perform random case audits in accordance with company policy or client specifications. They will also respond to Credentialing Committee requests, facilitate QMC meetings, work closely with the Chair of the Quality Management and Credentialing Committee, and oversee the credentialing of physician advisors, ensuring timely and accurate medical record files and summaries.
