Requirements

Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, psychiatric nursing, or a closely related field; OR High School or General Equivalency Diploma and two (2) years responsible employment history
Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check
Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment
All training (as specified)
Employees may be required to apply for Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC) credential
Regular and consistent attendance
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in groups and public settings
Excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate education groups for adults
Intellectual vigor and communication skills in interpreting and presenting clinical subject matter
Supervisory: None

Responsibilities

Prepares and presents in approved format, educational materials to clients
Provides an environment for learning and discussion that is safe, supportive, respectful, and culturally sensitive
Acquires adult education training as identified and scheduled by supervisor
Evaluates and communicates client participation in groups to team members
Documents client attendance, level of participation, synopsis, and summary of each group facilitated
Observes and maintains standards in accordance with agency policy and procedure
Documents services appropriately and timely using agency approved formats in an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, clearly describing the need for the service, the intervention provided, the date, actual time and setting of the service, and the individual’s response to the service
Immediately reports situations which may indicate an immediate threat to the physical or psychological wellbeing of clients or staff to supervisor or other available supervisory person
Other duties as assigned
Assists the Clinical Team in assigned treatment procedures, provides education and supervision to clients/patients while modeling appropriate behavior and providing a safe/therapeutic environment
