Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid/unexpired driver's license
  • Authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check
  • High School Diploma/GED (combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English to receive/understand instructions, ensure safety, and interact with customers
  • Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and use hands/fingers to operate tools/equipment
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 100 lbs. and push/pull up to 300 lbs
  • Regular attendance
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, heights, small/confined spaces, extreme noise, temperature/wind/light fluctuations
  • Ability to crawl in/out of small spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to wear personal protective gear
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays (preferred)
  • Basic computer skills (preferred)
  • Ability to attend required training and complete trainee status successfully

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload baggage and co-mail of various weights/dimensions to/from aircraft and airport baggage areas
  • Operate ground service equipment (GSE), including heavy motorized machinery (tugs, tractors, belt loaders, bag carts, push-back tractors, deicers, etc.)
  • Marshal aircraft to/from gates and push back aircraft
  • Meet arriving flights and service departing flights
  • Assist customers with special needs
  • Assist customer service agents as needed
  • Provide proper handling of baggage requiring special care
  • Service aircraft lavatories
  • Perform aircraft security searches and commissary security searches as required
  • Ensure ramp areas are safe and free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD)
  • Ensure all ground service equipment is properly maintained
  • Follow safety regulations, including proper use of GSE and wearing safety items
  • Communicate using two-way radio
  • Perform aircraft interior cleaning as required
  • Stock aircraft and carts with supplies (e.g., in-flight magazines, lavatory supplies)
  • Inventory tracking as required
  • Any other duties as assigned
