Requirements

  • U.S. or foreign Bachelor’s degree in Business & Commerce or Finance (3 or 4 year degree acceptable)
  • 4 years of experience as a business analyst, operations analyst, or related position in the international marketing and distribution of organic and inorganic raw materials in the chemical distribution industry
  • 4 years training and supporting staff and managing the integration of new staff after acquisition
  • 4 years supervising the collection of business data and information flows and analysis of its use
  • 4 years making recommendations to management about familiarization and training required relative to new business and/or computer/operational systems
  • 10% domestic and international travel required

Responsibilities

  • Responsible within broad policy limits, for the overall profitability of the company
  • Chair the Board of Directors in USA and report to the Board of Directors at the parent company in Australia
  • Perform as management head in the USA for HR, Quality, Finance, Marketing
  • Oversee head of US Sales team and logistics team
  • Responsible for hiring and firing employees
  • Participate, as appropriate, in the development of long and short range plans and policies
  • Assess present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities
  • Review and appraise the results of activities and ensures appropriate action is taken to resolve unsatisfactory conditions
  • Liaise with company senior executives, especially in the area of preparation of forecasts and budget to meet overall objectives of the organization
  • Maintain appropriate communications within and between the various functional areas involved and arranges for head office advice and counsel as required
  • Plan and develop the structure of the organization, ensuring that it is properly staffed
  • Control operations and management of some or all of supplies, finance, distribution, personnel, technical and administration functions
  • Supervises management staff
  • Interfaces with heads of other departments in a constructive way so as to improve performance
  • Prepare and review procedures covering all facets of the management function
  • Monitor management staff for compliance with procedures
  • Ensure training needs of management employees are identified and addressed accordingly
  • Review quality problems and reviews procedures in order to minimize the impact and reoccurrence of problems
  • Ensures the safe operations and procedures are adhered to
