Candidates must possess a minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field. A minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience deploying production services using Kubernetes is required, along with at least 6+ years as a Cloud DevOps or VoIP DevOps engineer in an individual contributor role. Proven experience in leading and mentoring teams toward automation excellence is also necessary. Strong expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and maintenance, deep proficiency in Kubernetes and Dockerized workload deployment in large-scale distributed production environments, experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, and expertise in large-scale Ansible automation development are essential. Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go is required.
The Gateway DevOps Engineer will collaborate with Developers, Infrastructure Engineers, and Product teams to build and maintain resilient systems, focusing on automation, CI/CD, observability, and cloud-native operations for Zoom's VOIP Services. Responsibilities include deploying and managing gateway services like CRC and audio conf across multi-cloud and on-premises environments. They will work extensively with VoIP technologies and protocols such as SIP, RTP, and WebRTC, deploying and managing these services on Kubernetes clusters. The role involves leading large-scale technical projects, designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable infrastructure primarily on AWS using cloud-native tools, and managing production deployments of Kubernetes-based and Dockerized workloads. Additionally, they will implement and manage infrastructure using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code, create and maintain large-scale automation frameworks using Ansible, and write and maintain scripts and code primarily in Python, Bash, or Go. The engineer will also mentor other team members on best automation practices and serve as the on-call owner for assigned services, monitoring infrastructure for these services and developing new automation to reduce manual effort.
